CLEMSON, S.C. – The NC State baseball team dropped Sunday's series finale at No. 2 Clemson 7-0 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

NC State (20-13, 10-8 ACC) still returns to Raleigh with a series victory over the second-ranked Tigers, posting back-to-back wins on Friday and Saturday to hand Clemson (29-6, 11-4 ACC) its first series loss of the season. The Wolfpack snapped Clemson's stretch of 15 straight series victories dating back to this past season.

Clemson broke Sunday's scoreless deadlock with five runs in the bottom of the seventh. After six shutout innings, the Tigers chased Wolfpack freshman starting pitcher Cooper Consiglio after a leadoff single and a walk. Jacob Hinderleider's RBI single gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead to open the scoring before Clemson pushed across four more runs to build a 5-0 advantage.

Despite suffering the loss, Consiglio (1-3) turned in his best performance in a Wolfpack uniform, tossing a career-high six innings while tying his career-high with three strikeouts. Consiglio allowed just five hits and two runs, both of which scored after he exited the game.

Clemson freshman starting pitcher Aidan Knaak (3-0) pitched eight shutout innings to earn the win, fanning 10 batters while allowing just two hits. Tigers' closer Austin Gordon recorded the final three outs to seal the win.
